Versions

Purchase reminders and watermarks

There are three versions of the add-ins, corresponding to the respective license: Tryout, Academic, and standard.

The Tryout version has a purchase reminder dialog box and extensive watermarks on the screen displays and printouts. The Academic version has no purchase reminder dialog box and has limited watermarks on the screen displays and printouts. The standard version has no purchase reminder dialog box and no watermarks.

Purchasers of the standard version may have opportunities for discounts on future products and upgrades. Discounts on upgrades are not available for the already-heavily-discounted Academic version or for the free Tryout version.

File-naming conventions

The first four characters of the file name are the first four letters of the product name, e.g., tree for TreePlan, sens for SensIt, risk for RiskSim, tool for Decision ToolKit, or what for WhatIf ToolKit.

The next three characters are digits indicating the release, e.g., 170 for release 1.70, 522 for release 5.22, etc.

The eighth character is a letter indicating the kind of document file or the corresponding license for the add-in, e.g., u for User Guide, e for Example Workbook, t for Tryout, a for Academic, or s for standard license.

The three-letter extension is the standard Windows extension, e.g., pdf for Adobe Acrobat Document, xls for Excel workbook, xla for Excel add-in, or exe for executable self-extracting compressed (zipped) file.
